Help make Mel a legal Citizen
I can't quite figure out a way to make you want to donate.
You may not know me, we may have never spoken to one another face to face or via the internet. Why should you give your money to a stranger when the rest of the world is suffering hard economic times, hell, you're probably having a difficult time of it too.
I don't know what to tell you.
I can say that, as a Canadian citizen, I have been living in the United States of America off and on for approximately seven years. Within this country I met the love of my life, the man of my dreams and married him here.
I want to live here for the rest of my life. I want to spend my days growing old and geeky, making T.I.E fighter noises with the friends I have met here and the man who has made all of my dreams come true.
In order to do that, we have decided to use a lawyer to help us process my citizenship. The lawyer's bill, which will being charged onto credit card that will be maxed out as soon as the charges hit, is roughly $2000. And, that will be the last of any available emergency funds we will have. There will be no more credit cards, no more health emergency funds, nothing more after said card is charged.
Everything now goes to bills with little left for anything else; we are desperate and putting our pride on a shelf in order to ask for help with the lawyer fees.
You don't have to donate if you can't, nor if you don't want to. I understand.
It's simply gotten to the point where I no longer worry about shame. It's about living where my heart is, and my heart is here.
Thank you very much for visiting and reading. I appreciate the time.
